Are you ready? I WILL BE - On August 3. I am taking a break for 3 weeks from all exercise. It has been the longest break of doing nothing physical since I started TAK
4 years ago and I'm not sure how I feel about it. On one hand, I definitely feel like my body needs it. Exercising hard for 6 days a week for the last 4 years and working a new business 14 hour days for the last year has made me quite tired, and I'm not seeing the results I had before so I'm a little discouraged. On the other hand, I'm an all or nothing kind of person, so I almost don't trust myself to start again. But I've got a start date. I am mentally there. Plus I'm writing this - so let's hear it for accountability!
I've read about Adrenal Fatigue
recently, trying to find out why I'm so flipping tired all the time. I've got most of the symptoms, though I understand doctors don't seem to agree on whether or not it's a real thing. Either way, I was surprised to find out that stressing your body to a certain point with intense exercise on a consistent basis can actually cause you to gain or hold onto weight. What?? I was working out to burn fat! Why was I not losing it? And worse, why was I fatter? I figured I am getting older and my metabolism is doing another 'thing' of its own. Well, that coupled with the fact that my diet hasn't exactly been as clean as it should be. But I used to be able to reel my weight back in within a week or so and be right back on track. It's just not happening now. I maintained 122 lbs for 3 1/2 years after having lost 25 lbs. I'm now 10 lbs. heavier despite the fact that I'm still working out as hard and lifting heavier. Then I thought, well, I AM lifting heavier, so it must be MUSCLE. Except muscle doesn't give you cellulite and a muffin top. Good try.
A little over a week ago, I was diagnosed with a second melanoma on a dark spot that just popped up on my shoulder 2 months ago. Had the wide excision yesterday and am waiting for pathology- but it's very early, so the prognosis is good.
Oh wow, bigger than I thought. Ewwww
(Side note: Don't wait to get a suspicious spot checked out. They can change quickly.)
Sometimes you just need a break. So break I will. Until these stitches are out. Aug. 3. (Well, they actually come out Aug. 4th, but I'll be good to go by the 3rd, I'm sure, because August 3 is a MONDAY, and we all know that no one starts an exercise program on any other day.)
The other point: Are YOU ready to RESET?
Here's my plan to lose fat, increase energy, build muscle and get fit! How about you start this with me!
Monday, July 27 - CLEAN EATING STARTS (this MONDAY - because.... you know)
What does this mean? We've got a week to reduce the bloat, get rid of toxins, get the detox head ache over with, lose a pound or two, and start to increase our energy before TAK begins on August 3.
Clean eating means - eating whole foods, minus wheat, gluten, dairy and refined sugar.
Supplements I'll be taking: 1st Phorm Adrenal Recovery, Buiced Liquid Multivitamin, peppermint oil, B-complex, Omega-3, Phormula-1 Protein
I chose these based on my needs. It's not really a recommendation, though I do recommend taking supplements for optimal health. Find ones that meet your needs and tastes.
Monday, Aug 3 - Clean eating continues and TAK begins. 42 DAYS OF TAK. It's 6 days a week for 7 weeks of eating right and working hard. You can do this without weight if you're just starting out, and you can add weight as you build strength.
Ready to start on Monday with me?
